It was obvious that winter would be hard in Sturgeon Bay that year. Baudauin decided that day. He had to do something. In the freezing cold of November, he could not abandon boats to parish.

So what should he do? He had the idea of building two skeletons with a steel frame on four truck wheels. This meant pulling a few tons of water out of the boat and placing it on the ground without the hassle of trailers. Yeah, Baudauin did it that day. With his passion for problem solving, he achieved a first in world history.

But the problems continued. The world was shrinking rapidly, distances were shortened. As needs increased, ships grew.

The early 21st century…
